OUR

MINISTRIES

It has been said of church ministry, "If you're not changing, you're not growing." This is true in one sense -- what may have been effective twenty to thirty years ago is, in most instances, not going to be applicable or possibly even effective today. But while the methods and types of media may change with each passing generation the MESSAGE never changes. The WAY WE ARE SAVED FROM SIN never changes. The MODE OF BAPTISM never changes. The WORD OF GOD never changes.

Listed below are various ministries of Community Baptist Church. As the needs and opportunities arise, new ministries will be added to the church under the Lord's direction.

SPROUT

(Newborn to 4 years)

Children are a gift from God. [Psalm 127:3 "Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward."] They are God's blessings to us and need much care, comfort, and protection during these early years. Watchful care will be provided in our SPROUT nursery while you attend our services.

THRIVE

(Elementary. Ages 5-11.)

As parents, we have the primary responsibility of teaching our children the things of God. [Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."] Each teacher in our THRIVE classes (k5-3rd grade, 4th-6th grade) have an abiding love for the Lord and are equipped in their knowledge of God's Word.

COMMUNITY KIDS

On Wednesday nights, our THRIVE Sunday School classes will meet downstairs for a Bible-centered, fun, engaging night of activity. Community Kids is an opportunity for kids to grow in and closer to the Lord Jesus Christ. Keep watching for the launch of this exciting new program at Community Baptist.

C.L.A.Y.

(Teens: Ages 11-18.)

C.L.A.Y., an acronym for "Changing Lives Around You," is designed to equip today's teenagers to live for the Lord in a world that constantly competes for their time and attention. C.L.A.Y. also has a youth event on the last Friday of each month. [Isaiah 64:8 "But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we are all the work of thy hand."]

Vessel

(College and Career: Ages 18-29)

Our college and career group is closely tied to our teen department. CLAY is what produces a vessel. A vessel is produced from CLAY. Likewise, God's working in our lives is a lifelong process that begins the moment we turn over our lives to the Lord for His purposes. Vessel will be meeting monthly in the near future.

Abundant Life

(Adult Class)

Our adult class is for ages 30+ and is designed to meet the needs of every adult Christian, whether they have been saved recently or have been a Christian for many years. Christ desires the abundant life for every believer; as such, every believer should seek to live in such a way that God receives the most from what He has made us to be for Him. ["I (Jesus) am come that they might have life, and that they might have it (life) more abundantly." John 10:10b]

Pointman Bumper Sticker.jpg

Pointman Ministries is a Vets for Vets ministry which reaches out to those whose scars may or may not be apparent to others - whose wounds may not yet have even been able to be put into words.  Though the scars may last, there is and can be healing, even for those who have thought it beyond their reach.  If you are a vet or if you have a vet in your life that is in need of healing, please contact the church at 973-470-0404, or Lou Mujica at 201-741-8683.
